Nick Hildebrand / Monday, April 23, 2018 / Categories: All News, Academics, Arts & Letters, Music Orchestra concert highlights Russian composers Grove City College’s Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 27 in Ketler Auditorium of Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. The concert will feature a focus on Russian composers. Compositions will include Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings”, Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Russian Easter Overture,” Khachaturian’s “Adagio from Spartacus” and others. In addition, the Clifford and Joanne Cox Award for Music Excellence will be awarded during the concert to a member of the orchestra for his/her contributions to the orchestra. The orchestras will be directed by Dr. Jeffrey M. Tedford ‘00, associate professor of Music and director of Orchestras at Grove City College. The concert, presented by the College’s Department of Music, is free and open to the public. It will be livestreamed at gcc.edu/livestream. There will be a dessert reception in the Pew Memorial Room following the concert.
