Nashville singer-songwriter Andrew Peterson playing GCC

Grove City College welcomes Nashville-based singer-songwriter Andrew Peterson to campus for a show at 9 p.m. Friday, March 23 in Crawford Hall Auditorium on campus.

Peterson has earned a reputation for writing songs that connect with his listeners in ways equally powerful, poetic and intimate. He’s released ten records over the last 15 years. His 2015 release “The Burning Edge of Dawn” was “an album to get you through a cold winter and keep you focused on the promise of spring.” His next record, “Resurrection Letters, Vol. 1,” is set for release on March 30.

Peterson’s lyrical and musical style demonstrates “the quality, emotion and heart the still exists in Christian music,” reviewer Jonathan Andre of the website 365 Days of Inspiring Media said. “Andrew is quite possibly one of the most emotive, heartfelt, enjoyable and deep lyricists of today, in both the Christian and mainstream music circles,” he said.

Fellow Music City artist Cody Fry will support Peterson at the Grove City College show.

Peterson is a natural-born storyteller and an author as well as an accomplished musician. His books include “The Wingfeather Saga,” a four-book fantasy adventure series for young people, described as “The Princess Bride” meets The Lord of the Rings.” The books are currently being produced as an animated film.

With his brother A.S. “Pete” Peterson, he founded the Rabbit Room, a Christ-centered online community dedicated to spiritual formation through music, story and art that features podcasts, a thriving music and book store, a publishing arm and a regular concert series in Nashville.

The brothers Peterson are headlining Grove City College’s 17^th annual Christian Writers Conference, which examines “The Art of Community: Faith through Story and Song” with a joint address at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in Crawford Hall Auditorium on campus. Their talk, entitled “Adorning the Dark: Community, Calling and the Mystery of Making,” will explore the redemptive power of being a member of a creative community. It is free and open to the public.
