As well as her evening lecture, Stevenson will hold a reading and discussion about her most recent work, the novel “Healing Maddie Brees,” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, also in the Great Room. Reviews for the book, which was a Forward Indies book of the year finalist in 2016, has been effusive, with Kirkus Reviews calling it “a gorgeous meditation on broken bodies, fractured faith, and the soul-wrenching path to serenity,” and Stephen Chbosky, New York Times Bestselling Author of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” hailing it as "an elegant story of faith and healing." Stevenson’s visit is sponsored by The Quad – Grove City College’s student literary magazine – with the Department of Literature and the Writing Program.
