Why did you choose to study abroad?
I chose to study abroad because many of my friends had gone abroad and I was inspired after hearing their stories and adventures. I wanted to have my own adventure and study abroad was the best way to do that.
How did you choose the country you went to?
I chose Spain because I wanted to learn Spanish. I had taken six years of Spanish and wanted to be immersed in the language.

The most unique experience was living with my host mom, Isabel. She did not speak English, so it was a daily challenge to communicate. She had a great sense of humor and laughed a lot when I did not understand simple instructions. It was interesting hearing her opinion on different subjects and learning about her life. My favorite memory with Isabel was when I found out she owned numerous restaurants and we were out one night until 3 a.m. eating at all of them.
How has it changed you?
Studying abroad has created a desire to travel and experience different cultures. I am a finance major, but I have decided to pursue international teaching jobs in order to see more of the world.
