Chemistry and General Science Secondary Education Major Leading to 7-12 Certification ​

Grove City College provides a solid foundation to students wishing to educate the young men and women of tomorrow. Students majoring in chemistry and general science secondary education leading to 7-12 certification take courses specific to the major along with the required liberal arts and education core.

In addition to completing 111 credit hours of major coursework, students are exposed to real-life teaching situations during field experiences and student teaching.

Spanish Major Leading to K-12 Certification in Spanish

Students majoring in Spanish leading to K-12 certification in Spanish take courses specific to the education major, along with a core of liberal arts courses.

 

 

Mathematics Major Leading to 7-12 Certification

​Majors in mathematics leading to 7-12 certification in mathematics take 88 credit hours of major coursework and are exposed to real-life teaching situations during field experiences and student teaching, as well as extra-curricular engagement with the department’s events and honoraries.​

 

Physics Major Leading to 7-12 Certification

Students majoring in physics leading to 7-12 certification in physics secondary education take 116 credit hours of major coursework and are exposed to real-life teaching situations during field experiences​.​

 

B.S. in Middle Level (4-8) Science and History Education

​Middle level (4-8) science/history education majors take 25 credit hours of science and history content for their concentration.​

 

Student Teaching

The student teaching semester is one of the most important elements in a student’s development as a teacher and Grove City College gives students the best experience possible.

 

After Graduation

Many education majors become certified and licensed teachers in Pennsylvania and other states, while many others take positions in unique teaching situations, missions work and other fields.
