If you are applying to Grove City College as a first-time freshman, simply follow our step-by-step application instructions and choose the application deadline that works best for you.

Freshman Application Requirements

First step: Click “APPLY” to create an account and select an Early Decision application or Regular Decision application.
If you are prepared to make a binding commitment to Grove City College as your first-choice school, we encourage you to apply under Early Decision. You should not apply under Early Decision unless you fully expect to accept an admission offer from Grove City College.

Second step: Submit your online application.
The online application alone can and should be submitted as soon as possible so we can learn about your interests, connect you with faculty and others on campus, and begin advocating for your admission consideration.

Third step: Submit these required documents.

• Official high school transcript and any college transcripts.
• Official SAT, ACT, and/or CLT scores (optional).
• Grove City College Early Decision Agreement Form (for Early Decision applicants only).
• One letter of recommendation from either an academic or spiritual/character reference (see examples below). The College does not provide specific forms for recommendation letters.
  • Academic recommendation letters can be from a teacher, guidance counselor, or principal.
  • Spiritual/character recommendation letters can be from a pastor, youth pastor, or someone who knows you well in that regard. Please do not ask a family member.

Upload your Early Decision Agreement Form and recommendation letter through the application portal. All other documents can be submitted via email (admissions@gcc.edu) or by mailing them to:

Test-Optional Admission

Grove City College is test-optional; however, if you have taken or are scheduled to take an SAT, ACT, or CLT test, we encourage you to submit your test scores for scholarship and admission consideration. We recommend submitting test scores for merit scholarship consideration and for students majoring in computer science, mechanical engineering, or those pursuing medical school.

Interview Recommended

A guided and relaxed, one-on-one conversation with an admissions counselor, this is a unique opportunity to share your story and your interests, as well as your chance to learn more about the College. The interview experience is just the beginning of the conversation with your admissions counselor, who will become your guide and advocate for admission.

Early Decision

If you are prepared to make a binding commitment to Grove City College as your first-choice school, we encourage you to apply under Early Decision. You should not apply under Early Decision unless you fully expect to accept an admission offer from Grove City College.

Application Deadlines

• Application Deadline – Nov. 1
• Notification Date – Nov. 20
• Deposit Deadline – Jan. 15

REGULAR DECISION

• Application Deadline – March 15 (Decisions will be mailed starting in early January for those who have submitted a completed application including all required documents.)
• Notification – Admissions decisions will be issued in mid-December to those who have completed their application and submitted their required documents by then. Afterwards, they will be issued on a rolling basis within a few weeks after a completed application is received.
• Deposit Deadline – May 1 (National College Decision Day)

Note: If you are still interested in applying to Grove City College after our Regular Decision deadline (March 15), you are welcome to apply late. Keep in mind, however, that space in your desired major may be limited.

Transfer Credit Requests

Not Sure About Your Major?

Students who are undecided about their major may select "Undeclared — Business," "Undeclared — Liberal Arts" or "Undeclared — Sciences." While several majors have a tight, eight-semester curriculum (e.g. Nursing, Education, Mechanical Engineering), others are more flexible and may be declared during a student’s freshman year or by the end of sophomore year (by which point most of our undeclared students easily find their fit). Find out more about enrolling as an Undeclared Business, Liberal Arts, or Sciences student.
