Housed in a state-of-the-art STEM building and Smith Hall, our department is furnished with a wide array of modern professional instrumentation — like the X-ray diffractometer — to determine the properties and structures of compounds. Beginning in your freshman year, you will get hands-on experience with our instrumentation, which will prepare you well for internships or research early on in your college years.
