DiLorenzo holds a Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he studied under Nobel Laurette, James Buchanan and his coauthor, Gordon Tullock. He earned a B.A. in economics from Westminster College. Dr. DiLorenzo is president of the Mises Institute. He is emeritus professor of economics at Loyola University Maryland and has taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo, George Mason University, and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga where he held the Scott L. Probasco Chair of Free Enterprise. Dr. DiLorenzo is the author or co-author of numerous books, including The Politically Incorrect Guide to Economics, Hamilton’s Curse: How Jefferson’s Arch Enemy Betrayed the American Revolution; Lincoln Unmasked: What You’re Not Supposed to Know About Dishonest Abe; How Capitalism Saved America: The Untold History of Our Country from the Pilgrims to the Present; The Real Lincoln: A New Look a Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War; From Pathology to Politics: Public Health in America (with James T. Bennett); Unfair Competition: The Profits of Nonprofits (with James T. Bennett); and CancerScam: The Diversion of Federal Cancer Funds for Politics (with James T. Bennett). Dr. DiLorenzo’s research areas are anti-trust, regulation, bureaucracy, and public choice. His articles have appeared in such scholarly journals as American Economic Review, Economic Inquiry, International Review of Law and Economics, Regulation, Public Finance Quarterly, Public Choice, Southern Economic Journal, Journal of Labor Research, Review of Austrian Economics, and the Independent Review.
