Showcase Series: Pittsburgh Opera's Moby Dick
As part of Pittsburgh Opera’s commitment to bring new, American operas to the Benedum Center stage, we are very proud to announce the Pittsburgh premiere of Jake Heggie’s critically acclaimed opera Moby Dick.
The opera is based on the famous novel of the same name by Herman Melville, about Captain Ahab’s monomaniacal pursuit of a legendary white whale in his ship the Pequod. Moby Dick the opera premiered in Dallas in 2010 and has been performed across the country and overseas. Moby Dick has earned rave reviews and is directed by Kristine McIntyre with Antony Walker conducting.
