The Wolverine Marching Band (Marching Wolverines) has a long history and tradition at Grove City College. As one of the largest marching bands in our division, we pride ourselves in making great music and supporting the College and its mission.

The marching band plays at every home football game. We also play at a number of off-campus venues. In the past three years, we have performed at the Pittsburgh Kennywood Parade, the Meadville Fall Festival Parade, Grove City’s Homecoming Parade, Marched through Main Street at Walt Disney World, performed for the televised WPXI Holiday Parade in Pittsburgh, and performed during a Pittsburgh Pirate MLB Game. We also performed at the Allentown Collegiate Band Festival held in eastern PA where we performed one of our half-time shows for nearly 20,000 people.
We have engineering majors, education majors and several different science majors in our band –nearly all majors are represented in within our band population. You WILL have time to be in our band – we design it that way.
The rehearsal schedule is designed to provide us/you with maximum impact for excellence and still allow you to be in other things or to simply concentrate on being a 4.0 student (which many of our band members are, by the way…).
We do the majority of our work during band camp; it’s a time when we can purely concentrate on “band stuff.” During the regular, college weeks we rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:25 p.m. and begin shortening rehearsals as we near the end of October – that’s it! In the rare circumstance where a College lab interferes with a Tuesday or Thursday rehearsal, we usually can make that exception work and keep the student in the band.
All students participating in band camp, meet in the Pew Fine Arts Center Lobby upon arriving to campus.

At Grove City College, we look at the Wolverine Marching Band as a major service provider to the campus and community, and as such, we are able to keep personal costs to a minimum.
During our shows, we perform two or three parade tunes, a pre-game show, and a half-time show that is modular (i.e. we will be able to switch out a couple of tunes for variety). Our pre-show includes:
