On the ‘Road’ again – Renowned economist to discuss Hayek

Renowned economist Donald J. Boudreaux will discuss “Hayek for the 21st Century” at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, in the Sticht Lecture Hall of the Staley Hall of Arts and Letters on the campus of Grove City College.

The lecture, hosted by the College’s Department of Economics and The Institute for Faith & Freedom at Grove City College, is free and open to the public. Registration at iff.faithandfreedom.com/hayek is requested.

"Don Boudreaux is one of the clearest living communicators of economics, as evidenced by his literally thousands of op-eds that appear regularly in newspapers like the Wall Street Journal and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, and his popular blog, ‘Cafe Hayek.’ I've been reading Boudreaux for years and learn something new every time I do," Caleb Fuller ’13, associate professor of Economics at Grove City College, said.

Boudreaux is an authority on 20th century economist Friedrich August von Hayek, whose seminal 1944 work “The Road to Serfdom” is a canon text for free market advocates. Attendees will receive a free copy of “Hayek for the 21st Century: Essays in Political Economy,” a compilation of some of Hayek's shorter, more accessible essays published by the Mises Institute.

Boudreaux is a professor of economics at George Mason University who also serves the university’s Mercatus Center as the Martha and Nelson Gretchell Chair for the Study of Free Market Capitalism and as a senior fellow with the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
