U.S. News affirms Grove City College’s value

Grove City College is a top tier National Liberal Arts College according to a leading source for college and university rankings.

U.S. News & World Report once again selected the College for inclusion in its “Best Colleges” guidebook, which was released Tuesday. The guide covers more than 1,500 institutions of higher learning. Grove City College is ranked 126 in the National Liberal Arts College category, the top designation for private liberal arts colleges.

The College is also ranked 57 on U.S. News’ list of Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs and named an “A-plus School for B Students.”

“U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings have confirmed, year after year, that Grove City College’s focus on providing an excellent education in a Christ-centered learning and living community at an affordable price results in outstanding outcomes for students, graduates and, ultimately, society,” College President Paul J. McNulty ’80 said.

“Our position among the top tier of national liberal arts and sciences colleges has been secured by objective measures of academic quality. Parents and students can be assured that the empirical value of a Grove City College education is matched by our commitment to the promotion of the Christian worldview, the foundations of a free society and the love of neighbor,” McNulty added.

U.S. News considers graduation rates, faculty qualifications, admissions data, institutional reputation and more when it evaluates colleges and universities for inclusion in the guide.

Grove City College’s ABET-accredited Mechanical and Electrical and Computer engineering programs earned the school a place as one of the nation’s best engineering schools. At Grove City College, budding engineers are instructed by experts in their respective fields, conduct solid research, complete senior capstone projects and often study abroad at the College’s European Study Center in Nantes, France, or work in industry before graduation. Engineering graduates have a near-100 percent placement rate in jobs or graduate school.

National Liberal Arts Colleges award at least half their degrees in the liberal arts.
