The College’s Board of Trustees recently approved a per semester tuition rate of $9,655 – just 2 percent over last year’s – with room and board set at $5,340. College President Paul J. McNulty ’80 called the decision “a principled step consistent with our long-standing values of stewardship and commitment to affordability.” “These charges are intended to strike a wise balance between the pursuit of excellence in academic and campus life programs and our determination to be one of America’s best values in private higher education,” he said. “Grove City College will continue to be an extraordinary opportunity in high-quality education. In fact, tuition will remain about half the cost of the national average across all four-year private nonprofit institutions.” “As the father of four college graduates, I appreciate the major sacrifice often required for the privilege of an outstanding college education,” McNulty said. Last year, Grove City College was ranked second in the state on College Raptor’s national list of Hidden Gems with Tuition Under $25K and it remains the least expensive private school in the state of Pennsylvania. The College doesn’t accept any federal funding, including student loans and grants, to preserve its distinctive mission and maintain its historic independence from unnecessary oversight and costly regulation. The private Christian college sets tuition at a price that reflects the actual cost of an education, in contrast to an institutional pricing model that is distorted and inflates the cost of a higher education. Most Grove City College students qualify for need- and merit-based aid funded by a large and generous donor base.
