Textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible; the ancient versions of the Hebrew Bible (Septuagint and Targums); the Pentateuch; and the Prophetic Books (currently Isaiah and Micah). What specific courses or specialties do you teach? In addition to HUMA core classes (Biblical Revelation and Speculative Mind), I teach Hebrew, Introduction to the Old Testament, the Book of Isaiah, the Book of Psalms, Evangelism and Discipleship, and World Religions. What is the most important piece of advice you give your students to help them succeed? Helen Keller once said, “A well-educated mind will always have more questions than answers.” I often tell my students that a good education requires two interdependent skills: asking the right questions and thinking critically.
