Professional Experience
I have over two decades of financial and business operations leadership in both for profit and non-profit organizations, with extensive experience in scaling business operations.    

Most recently I served as COO at Nimbis Services, Inc. (a small business government contractor) where I directed the overall operations at Nimbis, including the areas of accounting, contracts, information technology (IT), facilities, human resources, and risk management and helped scale the operations during a period of 5x revenue growth.

Prior to Nimbis, I served as Vice President for Finance & Administration at the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) where I was responsible for the financial operations of all domestic and international locations of the CCCU, in addition to overseeing IT, facilities, and human resources. While at the CCCU I served as the chair of the CFO Commission. Before the CCCU I served at McClean Bible Church (a large multi-campus church in Northern Virginia) for 14 years. I started out as the Director of Accounting and eventually served as the Pastor of Operations where I managed the finance, IT, audio-visual, facilities departments. I also had the opportunity to manage the copy center, café, coffee shop, bookstore and counseling center.  In addition to this, I enjoyed managing two large building projects for two additional church campus locations.

I am currently a CPA in the states of Maryland and West Virginia and a member of the AICPA.

I really enjoy accounting and I see a great need for accountants that have integrity and can use the gifts the Lord has given them to help support and advance His kingdom. In my past work I have really appreciated the times when I was working for an organization that I believed in and that was furthering the Lord’s kingdom. I want to play a part in developing future leaders in the accounting field who can make a difference for the Lord and the opportunity to return to Grove City College as an accounting professor was an opportunity to do just this.

In your opinion, what is the most important piece of advice you give your students to help them succeed?

The Lord has gifted each of you with particular gifts. He will make it clear over time what those gifts are and as you determine and develop those gifts be sure to use them for His glory wherever you are. There are many Christian organizations and churches out there that need great accountants who love the Lord, in addition to secular organizations that need Christian accountants that stand out for their integrity and their commitment to excellence. Life is short and time goes quickly – use the gifts the Lord has given you to further His kingdom and to make a difference in this world as we know the world certainly needs it.

Is there any additional personal experience you would like to share?

I enjoy hiking and taking road trips to visit National Parks with my family. One of the highlights was a 4-week road trip we took out west to visit National Parks throughout many areas of the country.  Before moving to Grove City, I enjoyed serving alongside my wonderful wife as co-leaders of our church’s Bible Quiz Team Ministry where we encouraged young people to memorize chapters of scripture and then use it to compete in a national Bible quizzing competition each June. Seeing the junior and senior high youth memorize many chapters and sometimes books of the Bible challenged me and led me to memorize along with them several of the years. This experience reinforced with me the value of hard work, how much we learn from it, and that we will never regret it in life.
