Grove City College presents “Anything Goes”

Grove City College students will take the stage for the fall musical production of “Anything Goes,” which runs from Nov. 9 to 12 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.

“Anything Goes” features songs by Cole Porter, including classics like the title track, “You’re the Top” and “I Get a Kick Out of You.” The show debuted in 1934 and has been revived on Broadway several times.

“Anything Goes” is set aboard an ocean liner where singer and evangelist Reno Sweeney is en route from New York to England. Her pal Billy Crocker has stowed away to be near his love, Hope Harcourt, but Hope is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Joining this madcap love triangle are Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin and his sidekick-in-crime Erma. With the help of some elaborate disguises, tap-dancing sailors and good old-fashioned blackmail, Reno and Martin join forces to help Billy in his quest to win Hope’s heart. 

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and doors will open 30 minutes before each performance. Admission is free, but attendees will need a ticket.
