The tally marks a 44% increase over the previous year’s gift total and is the most the College has ever raised in a year, according to Vice President for Advancement Jeff Prokovich ’89. The money supports need- and merit-based financial aid awards that go to more than 70% of the student body, campus building and improvement projects, and to enhance academic programs and student life initiatives. “These gifts benefit students, from increasing scholarship opportunities to ensuring they have access to the latest technology and state-of-the-art facilities to supporting programs that help them grow in wisdom and faith. And while figures like these may seem like they are beyond comprehension, we hope to build on our momentum so that we can provide even more opportunities and scholarships for our students.” Prokovich said. Fundraising is crucial to Grove City College surviving and thriving. The College accepts no federal funding and relies on tuition, the generosity of a large and committed base of supporters, and wise stewardship of its resources to deliver an academically excellent, affordable, and Christ-centered living and learning experience for students. Keeping tuition affordable requires an enormous amount of support from private individuals and donor-advised funds. The College has seen consistent, year-over-year increases in fundraising, a signal of growing support and validation of its commitment to academic freedom and institutional autonomy in an era of uncertainty and chaos in the higher education space. “The support of our donor community, which includes more than 5,000 alumni and friends, is critical to the operation of the College now and essential to fulfilling our mission in the future. We are blessed by their generosity,” Prokovich said. The $52,631,092 total for fiscal year 2024-25 does not include any pledges for future giving, only cash in hand, Prokovich said. It will boost the College’s endowment, which stood at $216 million before the end of the fiscal year on June 30. Ninety-one percent of the revenue generated by the endowment goes to need- and merit-based aid to students. The College is currently conducting a $185 million comprehensive campaign to fund student scholarships; capital improvements across campus, including a massive renovation of the iconic 90-year-old Rockwell Hall of Science; and enhanced student services.
