As a part of our admissions process, the interview affords each student the opportunity to highlight accomplishments and involvements in high school, goals for the future, and other areas of interest to an admissions counselor.
The interview plays a significant role in the selection of the freshman class and is highly recommended for admission, especially for those applicants who live within one day's drive (approximately eight hours) from campus. Of this year's enrolled freshman class, 92% interviewed with the Office of Admissions. We urge all applicants to interview when they feel prepared to discuss their interests and the nature of their college search.
The interview, although evaluative in nature, more closely resembles a conversation about the student, their desires for college, and what Grove City College can offer. We work with the student as an advocate, provide insight into the college planning and scholarship search process, and assist students in engaging further with the campus community.
We begin interviewing students no earlier than the spring of their junior year and continue until interview deadlines are met. As with all interviews, we recommend professional dress. A student may not "re-interview" and therefore, should wait until the appropriate time in his or her college search.
