Title: Junior Accountant
Office/Department: Financial Services Department
Description: This position will be responsible for properly classifying and recording expenses from the operating fund and various restricted funds, primarily through the accounts payable process and they will assist with the preparation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, reports, and year-end audit requirements. This position will process weekly accounts payable, manage vendor records, issue tax exempt certificates and prepare credit application materials. Additionally, this position will assist in the management of the corporate credit card administration, gather documents, prepare payment, and file returns for various federal and state reportable transactions (1099, 1042-S), and prepare Pennsylvania Unclaimed Property Filings.
Requirements: An associate degree is required and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred. Must have one year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Prior experience in accounts payable is preferred.
