Sarah Miller '19 is a school psychology Ph.D. student at the University of South Carolina.
This program is built on the scientist-practitioner model, which emphasizes how science and practice should mutually inform each other. It provides training in research and practice including assessment, prevention, and intervention with youth in school and community settings. Sarah received the University of South Carolina’s Presidential Fellowship, the most prestigious university-wide award for promise of excellence at the graduate level, which provides professional development and networking opportunities.
Sarah’s current research focuses on the social determinants of health and the impacts of physical health conditions on mental health. Following obtaining her PhD, Sarah intends to continue research as a professor at a research-focused institution.
