Grove City College men’s and women’s lacrosse teams captured their respective Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship titles Saturday.

The third time was indeed the charm  for the Grove City College women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon at Washington & Jefferson.

Two years ago, Grove City closed its inaugural season by dropping a 13-5 decision at W&J in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament title game. Last year, W&J edged visiting Grove City in the tournament semifinals, 9-8.

Saturday afternoon at Alexandre Stadium, Grove City turned the tables on top-seeded W&J by earning a 13-10 win over the Presidents in the 2024 conference tournament title game. It is Grove City's first conference title in women's lacrosse, as well as the Wolverines' first-ever win over W&J.

The Grove City College men's lacrosse team captured its fifth straight Presidents' Athletic Conference title by downing visiting Allegheny in the conference tournament title game Saturday afternoon at Robert E. Thorn Field, 27-9.

Top-seeded Grove City (15-4) led 6-2 after one quarter, pushed the lead to 11-3 by halftime and then sealed the win with 10 goals in the third quarter.

Grove City has won 13 straight games at Thorn Field. Second-seeded Allegheny (10-7) made its first appearance in a conference tournament title game. The Wolverines defeated Allegheny two weeks ago, 22-6, during the regular season at Thorn Field.

The Wolverines have earned the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
