Organist Adam Brakel headlines Showcase Series concert

Grove City College’s Showcase Series presents a performance by acclaimed organist Adam Brakel at 8 p.m. March 8 in Harbison Chapel on campus.

Hailed as “an absolute organ prodigy ... with the technique and virtuosity that most concert pianists could only dream of” by National Public Radio, concert organist Brakel is “one of the most talented organists in the world,” according to the Chicago Tribune. His expansive repertoire includes the complete organ works of Bach, Bruhns, Buxtehude, Couperin, Liszt, de Grigny, Franck, Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Duruflé.

The Showcase Series brings creative and cultural offerings to campus each year for student and community enjoyment. The performances are curated by the College’s Department of Music and highlight the arts as an integral part of the Grove City College experience.

Upcoming Showcase Series events include:

  • Classical Faith Piano Trio comprised of regional classical music standouts Anne Martindale Williams, cello, Christopher Wu, violin, and Bethany Brooks, piano. They play at 7:30 p.m. March 20 in Arnold Recital Hall of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. Tickets.
  • Cicilia Yudha, concert pianist and educator, at 8 p.m. April 4, in Arnold Recital Hall. Yudha is a versatile soloist and an avid chamber musician who performs nationally and internationally. Ticket information coming soon.
