A college education should be an investment, and the natural thought is that the degree is the return on that investment. But the return on investment for a college education should be more than that. There should be a lifelong return in all areas of life, especially professionally, spiritually, and socially. I found that Grove City College provided me with countless tools and opportunities to turn my education into a holistic, lifelong investment, and I know I will be capitalizing on my Grove City education for years to come.

About Me
My parents used to tell me that they would whisper “Grove City College” into my and my siblings’ ears after we went to sleep at night. With both my parents being alumni of Grove City, I always knew they loved Grove City, but I could’ve sworn they were joking about whispering in my ear. Turns out, their plan worked to perfection, because not only did I spend four wonderful years here as a student, but I also now have the opportunity to share this special place with others.

When I was in high school, I did not even want to consider Grove City as one of my college options. God used things like the beautiful campus and remarkable sense of community to help me find a home away from home at Grove City. Despite my reluctance at first, I ended up loving my time here. I found a major I was passionate about, and the challenging academics helped prepare me for post-graduate life. Every student has access to a wide variety of tools to shape who they are, and in my time here I was able to use these tools to grow and shape my character. I joined meaningful campus organizations, learned how to make and own difficult decisions, and was able to engage and participate in the wonderful community that first drew me to Grove City College.

Favorite Scripture
“He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)

Favorite Grove City Memory
I will always remember the travel opportunities I had through the College! Whether it was traveling to France for a professor-led travel course or traveling to Colorado with the volleyball team for a national tournament, I always had a blast. An equally fun memory, but a little more spontaneous, was playing golf through the dorms on campus one winter night during my freshman year.

Favorite On-Campus Activity
This is not a fair question because I loved so many different activities for different reasons. Orientation Board stands out because of the energy and excitement associated with the ministry. Greek Life gave me the opportunity to plug into the wonderful community here. And the Men’s Volleyball team gave me the opportunity to play a sport I loved with friends from all across campus.
