Institute for Faith & Freedom hosts community lecture series

Dr. Michael Coulter

The Institute for Faith & Freedom (IFF) at Grove City College is hosting a “Making Sense of …” community lecture featuring Professor of Political Science Dr. Michael Coulter discussing the importance of state and local politics.

“Making Sense of State and Local Politics” is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Institute’s new office space at the College’s Lincoln Avenue Center ,125 Lincoln Ave., Grove City.

The lecture is free and open to the public, but attendees must RSVP at faithandfreedom.com/local-politics.

This is the second in a new series of IFF lectures under the banner of “Making Sense of…” The lectures are geared towards community members and non-students who are interested in hearing from IFF scholars and meeting like-minded people. They will be held on a wide variety of topics including politics, faith, art, and technology, and focus on the core tenants of faith and freedom.

In addition to teaching state and local politics, Coulter has served the Grove City community as a borough council member from 2008-2015, worked on various regional political campaigns, and serves as an expert on politics for journalists in the region.

“He knows political philosophy and has his ear to the ground when it comes to politics local, regional, and national,” Economics Professor Dr. Ritenour, who spoke at the inaugural “Making Sense of …” lecture, said of Coulter.

“These lectures are a good opportunity to hear experts in their fields comment on the relevant issues of the day and investigating problems we all face in our daily lives,” Ritenour said.
