Grove City alumna is top scorer in the state on CPA exam

Grove City College alumna Kathryn Claudy ’15 was recently recognized as one of the top scorers on Pennsylvania’s uniform CPA exam in 2015, according to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA.)

Claudy, who is employed as an associate in Grossman Yanak & Ford LLP’s Assurance and Advisory Services Group, was one of the top 15 scorers out of more than 750 candidates who successfully passed the state exam. Top scorers are those individuals whose combined scores on all four sections of the CPA exam were the highest of all Pennsylvania exam takers last year.

Grove City College Department of Accounting graduates do better than 90 percent of their peers when it comes to taking their CPA exams.

The College’s accounting graduates ranked 24th in the nation on the 2014 CPA examination among small-sized programs, a category that included a total of 257 institutions. Grove City College graduates’ pass rate was 17 points higher than the national average for all programs. Less than half of those who take the CPA test nationwide pass the exam.
