Grove City College student-athletes will have an apparel advantage as the College enters into an exclusive agreement to outfit every varsity Wolverine player in Under Armour uniforms.
Under the deal, all 21 (soon to be 22 with the addition of men’s lacrosse in 2017-2018 academic year) Grove City College NCAA Division III teams will sport new and vibrant Under Armour uniforms featuring the College’s crimson and white colors and the company’s trademarked technology, which has kept players cool and dry since 1996. Uniforms will be standardized across all sports and replaced over the life of the five-year contract using the College’s established uniform rotation policies.
The College worked with Under Armour, the world’s leading performance apparel maker, and BSN Sports, the largest distributor of team sports apparel and equipment in the United States, to benefit students who will be wearing the uniforms, the College’s financial footing and the company’s desire to serve customers well.
The partnership with Under Armour raises the profile of Grove City College athletics to a level that matches student-athletes’ determination to compete at their fullest potential. Wolverine sports fans will also have their choice of new styles of Grove City College-branded Under Armour apparel available in the College bookstore.
“As we strive for excellence in our athletic program in all that we do, it became apparent to us that signing this agreement with Under Armour and BSN Sports would help support that endeavor,” College Athletic Director Todd D. Gibson ’02 said.
“Our athletes and coaches will have the opportunity to wear uniforms and apparel of the highest quality, and BSN sports will deliver us unmatched service and product availability with our sporting goods needs. We feel making this move will better equip the Grove City College Athletic Department to rise to the growing challenge of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III landscape,” Gibson said.
“We are always looking for ways to serve the needs of our customers, and aligning with Under Armour will allow us to provide Grove City College with products that will help them perform at their best,” Todd Northrop, director of Sales for BSN Sports, said.
Under the agreement, Under Armour and BSN will provide the College with apparel, equipment and other products, offer discounts and rebates, supply banners featuring Grove City College and Under Amour logos, free T-shirts for conference champion teams and free clothing for coaches who win coach of the year honors.
