U.S. News & World Report's 2026 Best Colleges rankings put Grove City College as a top regional college for value and overall quality.
The College holds the number two spot for Best Value in the North and is ranked fifth overall in the region in the latest edition of the influential annual college and university rankings. The College’s undergraduate Engineering and Computer Science programs are also highlighted in U.S. News’ 2026 guide.
“These rankings affirm that Grove City College offers an exceptional education that combines rigorous academics and a remarkable value in our distinctly Christian community. The College’s commitment to academic excellence and affordable tuition ensures our graduates can live out their callings with purpose and integrity,” College President Bradley J. Lingo ’00 said.
A Best Value school offers more than just a low cost and high return, according to U.S. News. The College’s affordable sticker price and efforts to provide the maximum possible need-based aid were considered only in relation to the quality of education that is offered, according to US. News’ methodology.
The College’s annual tuition rate of $22,750 is less than half of the national average of $46,950. U.S. News reports 45% of first-year students received financial aid from the College, with an average need-based scholarship award of $12,755 and merit-based average of $7,434.
The College’s overall best ranking is based on academic data, including graduation rates and financial resources devoted to instruction, high post-graduate earnings, low student debt, and peer assessments from administrators and faculty at other private, non-profit colleges.
Peer reviews from senior faculty members are also key to the College’s Engineering and Computer Science departments earning recognition as top undergraduate programs in the U.S. News rankings.
U.S. News also noted the College’s average freshman retention rate, an indicator of student satisfaction, is 88%.
