Dena (Lauch) Solman, ’92

I’ll be forever grateful that God guided me to Grove City College, all the way back in 1988. God knew what He was doing when He drew my attention to the Grove City College flier posted in First Presbyterian Church’s (Titusville, PA) youth group room. I wanted a rigorous education and was thrilled to leave the socially promiscuous world of high school in my rearview mirror. Attending GCC was the decision that changed the trajectory of my life.

I owe so much to Grove City College! Not only did I meet my husband Steve (’96) at Grove, but my best friends are also from my freshman hall (Second Floor North, “Almost Angels!”), and my children are students (Andrew ’24 and Amy ’27). I am living that Grove City College dream!

I am thrilled that the Lord brought me back full-time to Grove City College, 25 years after my five-year tenure as an Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director of Admissions in the 1990s. I absolutely love to promote Grove City College – it is quite an easy job. I had a top-notch experience, and my own children quickly discovered the awesomeness of the College. They are being fed spiritually, challenged academically, and are flourishing socially.

Deciding which college to attend is a huge decision, and one that will shape your life for decades after you matriculate. Your future friends…your future job…your future spouse, perhaps? No pressure, right? This is why it is paramount to keep God at the center of your college choice decision. He will place you where He wants to use you to build His Kingdom!

As a Grove City College alumna, parent, and employee, I can offer a very unique perspective to prospective students and their parents. Please reach out and let me know how I may provide wisdom and guidance in your college search!

Thank you for prayerfully considering Grove City College!

Favorite College Memory
Meeting my lifelong friends and fellowshipping with them during our four years on campus. From hallway antics and pranks to late night runs to the GeDunk for cheese fries and popcorn parties and Bible studies, what precious memories.  Even 35 years after graduation, we text each other weekly and gather on the Chesapeake Bay once a year. Thank you, Jesus, for enduring friendships!
