College to inaugurate President Lingo

Grove City College will officially inaugurate Bradley J. Lingo ’00 as the College’s president at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19 in Harbison Chapel on campus.

Lingo, who assumed the presidency in July, will be formally invested in his office in a service highlighting Grove City College’s 150th anniversary, its legacy of faith and freedom, and its unmatched place in the world of higher education.

The ceremony will be livestreamed at gcc.edu/livestream.

Lingo will deliver an address “Faith, Freedom, and Our Future.” His two living predecessors, presidents emeriti Paul J. McNulty ’80 and Richard G. Jewell ’67, will also speak at the service, as will Board of Trustees Chair Edward D. Breen ’78. Former U.S. vice president Mike Pence, who serves as a distinguished visiting fellow for the College’s Center for Faith & Public Life, will deliver the benediction.

The service will also feature sacred music, scripture, and salutations from faculty, administration, staff, students, and alumni, along with the investiture by Breen and members of the Board of Trustees.

Lingo is just the 10th man to hold the presidency since the College was founded in 1876, a fact that points to a quality and consistency of leadership over the decades that has enabled the College to hold fast to its founding principles across generations. He is the fifth alumnus to serve as president.

A native of northeast Ohio, Lingo graduated first in his class and summa cum laude from Grove City College in 2000 with a degree in business-economics. He earned his J.D., with honors, from Harvard Law School and enjoyed a successful career in private legal practice before shifting to academia. Prior to returning to his alma mater, Lingo served as dean of Regent University School of Law.
