How would you describe the level of academics you experienced during your time at GCC?
Though I moved from Alabama to Pennsylvania for college, I am so thankful for the quality, Christ-centered education Grove City College offered. I believe the education and experience I received were worth every penny. I am grateful I attended a school that provided such value at a reasonable cost.
What are some of the ways you were spiritually engaged while at GCC?
At GCC, students can grow spiritually through classes, Chapel, extracurricular activities, and interactions with like-minded believers. Students are constantly surrounded by the truth of God. I am so thankful that my time at GCC allowed me to know God more deeply and seek counsel through professors, RAs, and friends. The culture and structure of GCC cultivate a love for learning the truth of God and the wonderful world He has created. It was so beneficial to have Christ-centered conversations inside and outside the classroom.
How did the Education department prepare you for your current role/career?
I am so grateful for the rigorous academics that GCC provided. Classes are designed to challenge students so they are truly prepared for life after college. Both the general education and major specific classes encourage students to think critically about the knowledge they encounter, equipping them to evaluate information and discern truth.
What was the relationship like between the students and professors?
Professors seek to challenge, encourage, and support student learning at GCC. They want their students to learn and be prepared for their career. They also are very helpful during office hours to answer questions and offer encouragement. I have had many professors pray with and for me during office hours, offering support and encouragement in both academic and personal matters.
What was your favorite aspect of Grove City College?
My favorite aspect of Grove City College is being surrounded by a Christ-centered community of professors, staff, and students. This community has given me lifelong knowledge, memories, and friendships for which I am incredibly grateful.
Describe your experience with dorm life at GCC, particularly freshman year.
Living in MAP North freshman year allowed me to meet and grow close to many other girls on my hall. I am so thankful to my freshman RA, who planned Bible studies, meals, and other events to help us connect. Living on the same hall and sharing a bathroom created a strong sense of community and allowed us to grow especially close.
