Coming Home to Grove City College
In so many ways, I feel that my life is coming full circle as I return to work at Grove City College. I can’t think of a better place to use my skills in communication and English, or a better purpose than to encourage you in your college decision. Grove City College is where I met my husband, earned my degrees and found meaningful employment. It is a place of honor, faith and integrity and I am so thankful to be a part of it.

My hope is that I can express to you how special this college environment is physically, mentally and especially spiritually. There is truly no other place like it—a place where you can grow freely with encouragement, leadership and friendship. I am excited for you to find the perfect place to begin your college journey, and if you land here at Grove City College you will have the most fulfilling and exciting time of your life! Most importantly you will be prepared to face the world with a strong faith and make a significant contribution in your professional field.

About Me
I began my career as an editor for a Pittsburgh publishing firm and then served as the Director of Public Information for Grove City College. I later worked as a high school English teacher at North Hills High School until retiring from teaching to raise my children. When my children were young, I continued to work part time as a freelance editor and as an SAT prep class instructor. I most recently worked as a Realtor for Piatt Sotheby’s International Realty.

I was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Following graduation from Quaker Valley High School in 1991, I attended Grove City College and earned a B.A. in English, Communication and Secondary Education in 1995. I was able to be very involved at Grove City, joining a sorority and multiple outreach groups and even living at the beach for a summer with the Coalition for Christian Outreach. I hold many amazing memories of my college years and I realize now how formative they were in my life. I married my college sweetheart, Duke Johncour, in May 1995. We have lived in our Ohio Township home for 20 years with our four children, three of whom attend Avonworth School District, where Duke teaches and coaches. Our oldest son is currently a student at Grove City College.
