Commencement, Baccalaureate set for Class of 2023

Grove City College will hold its 143rd Commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, to celebrate the graduation of the class of 2023.

At 7 p.m. Friday, May 19, the class will worship together at the Baccalaureate service. Both ceremonies will take place on the College’s main Quad, weather permitting. Rain location for both is the Arena of the Physical Learning Center on campus. Tickets are required for seating in the Arena.

At Commencement, the College will award degrees in the arts and sciences, with more than half of the graduating class earning cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude honors.

Alumna Karen (Semler ’92) Hanlon, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Highmark Health, will deliver the commencement address “The Power of Gratitude and Positivity.” 

Hanlon and alumnus Rev. Dr. D. Dean Weaver ’86 will receive honorary doctorates in recognition of their accomplishments and contributions to their fields. Weaver, who served as interim College chaplain from 2018 to 2020, will be preaching at the Baccalaureate service.
