Grove City College presents Trio Nova Mundi in concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in Arnold Recital Hall of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.
Trio Nova Mundi, the College’s ensemble in residence, is comprised of violinist Maureen Conlon Gutierrez, cellist Elisa Kohanski and pianist Becky Billock, all adjunct faculty members in the College’s Department of Music.
“We feel very fortunate to have these talented musicians as faculty,” Dr. Beverly Carter, chair of the Department of Music and professor of music, said. “Individually and collectively, the high caliber of musicianship – coupled with an obvious joy in creating music – provides a significant dimension to our music curriculum and the campus.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
Trio Nova Mundi is committed to community outreach and the goal of bringing musical appreciation to younger audiences across the globe. In addition to performances in the US, the trio traveled to South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe in 2013 and to Mexico in 2014 where they performed and engaged in educational outreach. The trio is releasing their debut CD “Canticum” this month. For more on Trio Nova Mundi, visit www.trionovamundi.com.
