Nick Freiling, '13

B.A. in Economics

What have you been doing since graduation?
I worked at a market research firm in Washington, D.C. for a while before starting PeopleFish in 2016. Since then we've fielded market research surveys for more than 200 startups.

Why did you choose Grove City College?
I wanted an education infused with Christian values. In my opinion, there is no other way for a serious Christian to learn about the world.

How important was affordability in your choice of Grove City College?
Very important! Probably 60% of private liberal arts colleges were not on my list of possibilities because of the high cost. Grove City College caught my eye because of the affordability of tuition.

How well did Grove City College prepare you to enter the workplace?
Right out of college I felt empowered in ways my colleagues did not. Grove City College gave me a holistic perspective on things – something many of my colleagues lacked, despite their having attended more “liberal” colleges. My professors equipped me with vast subject matter expertise, and they also helped prepare me for life beyond career, challenging me to wrestle with questions of life, faith, and purpose.

How would you describe the spiritual environment at Grove City College?
I was challenged at Grove City College to think about my faith more deeply. This came from professors, friends, and other mentors around campus.

What is the relationship like between students and professors?
When I attended, professors were close with students. I never felt awkward coming to them outside of class and found them to be interested in my life and what I was passionate about.

What should prospective students know about Grove City College?
Don't undervalue the importance of a Christian perspective and a Christian education. Grove City College takes that very seriously.
