How big of a role did affordability play in your college decision-making process?
The affordability of Grove City College was the first priority, but it certainly helped make the decision even easier! I only applied to two colleges and I truly felt like God was calling me to be on this campus. My family certainly appreciated the lower cost and I realize what a blessing it is to have graduated virtually debt free. As a high school senior, I don’t think I understood what a weight off my shoulders it would be to enter the real world without having to pay off student loans.

How has your faith been strengthened, and perhaps even challenged, during your time here?
In my time at the College, I saw my fair share of blessings and trials. In the good times and the bad times, I felt God’s presence and learned to trust that He will never leave me nor forsake me. Grove City College is full of believers who challenge you to consider your personal relationship with God and inspire you to encourage others in their faith.

How would you describe the level of academics you experienced at Grove City College?
Challenging yet manageable. Despite initially being overwhelmed, I found many opportunities for help. I had several student tutors and always felt comfortable going to any professor for help. After asking for help and establishing study habits as a freshman, I was easily able to balance academics as well as other activities like theater, marching band, choir and orchestra.

What is the relationship like between the students and the professors?
The professors at Grove City College are wonderful! They hold students to a high standard because they truly want to see students succeed. I cannot imagine where I would be as a musician, a teacher, or as a believer without their wisdom. The kind and compassionate professors made Grove City a place I love.

What is your favorite aspect of Grove City College?
The sense of community on campus. I came to think of my friends, fellow music majors and others as different families I had on campus that made the experience full of joy. My roommates became like my sisters and are women who I still deeply admire. Grove City College is a community where I always felt accepted and loved.

Describe your experience with residence life, particularly freshman year.
Freshman year I used the Grove City College Roommate Finder to be matched up with my first roommate. We met at Senior Crimson Day, and we were excited to start living together. My freshman hall was an incredibly enthusiastic and supportive group of ladies. We bonded early on during orientation week, led by our two incredible RAs, who were there there every step of the way and helped make my transition to college life smooth.
