Learn how Grove City College prepares students for culturally rich and successful careers in music. This open house is for high school students interested in majoring in music (concentrations available in music/business, music/education, music/performance, or music/religion) or a minor in music or musical theater.
You will have a wonderful opportunity to meet faculty, learn about majors, visit a class, interact with current students, and enjoy campus dining (lunch is provided for you and up to four guests!).
Anticipated Schedule*
- 9 to 9:30 a.m. Registration in Pew Find Arts Center (campus map)
- 9:30 a.m. Welcome and Introductions
- 11 a.m.
- Seniors: Music Theory Screening
- Underclassmen and Parents: Financial Aid Presentation and Q&A with Current Students
- Noon: Lunch with Current Faculty and Students
- 1 p.m. Visit a Class
- 2 p.m.
- Seniors: Auditions (Contact Dr. Tedford to schedule an audition.)
- Underclassmen and Parents: Campus Tou
- 3 p.m.
- Chapel Choir with Dr. Mueller in the Arnold Recital Hall (Students can participate or observe.) Followed by Closing Meeting with Dr. Mueller
- Auditions for Instrumental Students Followed by Closing Meeting with Dr. Tedford in Ketler Auditorium
- 4 p.m. Symphonic Orchestra (Observe dress rehearsal.) with Dr. Tedford in Ketler Auditorium
*Students will receive a packet of information at registration with the final event program.
