Position: Assistant Professor of Spanish (Open Specialization)

Grove City College’s Department of Modern Languages invites applications for a full-time assistant professor of Spanish (open specialization) beginning in August 2020, pending budgetary approval. We seek a generalist of any specialization who is familiar with ACTFL guidelines. Ability to contribute to the Spanish Secondary Education program and courses on second language acquisition would be an asset. Ph.D. and native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English required. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in literature, language, culture, and the professions; participating actively in delivering a strong curriculum that equips students for graduate school and/or professional careers; and advising.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong potential for excellence in classroom teaching, a record of scholarship within his or her field and a commitment to teaching highly motivated students at a Christian liberal arts institution. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Faculty members are expected to teach a 4/4 load.
