Grove City College professor, students to present at Christian education conference in Germany
Dr. Patricia Scheffler, associate professor of education at Grove City College, Monica Godfrey ’13 and Christina Snyder ’13 have been invited by the Association of Christian Schools International to speak at the International Christian Educator Conference—Europe, held at the Black Forest Academy in Kandern, Germany, from March 23-26.
Scheffler will present three workshops in the early childhood and elementary education fields. Her workshop, Bad Behavior Begone: Positive Behavior Support will discuss behavior management based on Jesus’ teaching model. Words and Numbers: A Match Made in Heaven connects math concepts and children’s literature to develop number sense and Facing Your Giants will encourage teachers with ways to overcome challenges.
Godfrey’s workshops will connect literature with cross-curricular integration and popular topics for high school students. Snyder will discuss the appropriate role of technology in the classroom.
The trip was made possible for the students through funding from the Calderwood Fund and the Office of International Education.
