From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 8, the Carnegie Alumni Center will play host to the competition sponsored by the II-VI Foundation.
Students are expected from Grove City Middle School, Hillview Intermediate Center, Delahunty Middle School, Reynolds Elementary School, Hartman Elementary School, East Elementary School, Lakeview Middle School, Grove City Christian Academy, Neshannock Memorial Elementary School and Valley Grove Elementary School.
Winners take home trophies and can compete against students from Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania at the Calcu-Solve Super Bowl next year at Duquesne University.
Calcu-Solve, in its second year at Grove City College, is organized by Dr. Erin Bancroft and Dr. Eric Bancroft, both professors of mathematics. The Bridgeville, Pa.-based II-VI Foundation’s mission is to encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM.)
