Why did you choose to study abroad?
I chose to study abroad because I love to experience new things, and I thought living in a different foreign country would definitely bring new experiences.

Why did you choose to study abroad?
I chose Italy because I’ve always had a good perception of the food and beautiful scenes I’ve seen in photographs. I still have just as good a perception of the country.

Share one unique experience that happened while you were abroad.
One day when I was in Rome, my friend and I decided to go down to the Vatican because we thought it was a cool place just to hang out. We started approaching the Vatican and saw a ton of people inside the piazza. Turns out, the Pope was going to make an appearance. After waiting a little while, Pope Francis appeared up in a window and the first thing he said was, “Buon Giorno.” As soon as he said that, everyone went wild and started waving their country’s flags in the air, clapping and singing. It was a very neat cultural experience to see how people got so excited to see the Pope, and I got pretty lucky to end up there by chance.

How has it changed you?
It has made me more aware of just how big the world is and how there are different ways of life that people are living in right now.
