​Every student’s story is different, and how you choose to take advantage of the numerous opportunities to learn, grow and flourish is up to you. Each year, talented students from around the world bring their intellect, work ethic and enthusiasm to Grove City College and make the most of all the Department of History and the campus have to offer. Research opportunities, unique work experiences and student clubs and organizations are just a few of the ways our students get involved.

Minor in History

​This minor integrates well with a variety of other disciplines such as sociology, political science and economics.

 

Minor in Interdisciplinary Classics

​Requirements include 21 credit hours of English, Greek, history, philosophy, political science and Latin.

 

Internships

​Grove City College history students intern at wide variety of museums, historical sites, businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

 

B.A. in History

​Students will be able to research, write and defend a variety of historical theories and movements and will be prepared for graduate work and employment in a wide array of disciplines and industries.

 

After Graduation

Students graduating with a B.A. in history are well poised for careers in government service, politics, the military, publishing, journalism, communications, human resources, public relations, archives and museums, historical preservation and restoration, archaeology and more.

 

History Major Leading to 7-12 Teaching Certification in Secondary Social Studies

Students studying history at Grove City College may also prepare for careers in teaching and education by majoring in history leading to 7-12 certification in secondary education social studies.
