Grove City College Orchestra presents fall concert


​The Grove City College Orchestra will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, in the Pew Fine Arts Center at the Ketler Auditorium on campus.

The College Orchestra is conducted by Instructor of Music and Fine Arts Jeffrey Tedford ’00.

The concert will begin with the Chamber Orchestra performing several movements from Beethoven’s “Fifth Symphony.” After a brief intermission, the College Orchestra will perform three works: Dvorak’s “Carnival Overture,” the fourth movement of Sibelius’ “Symphony No. 2,” and the “Theme from Superman” by John Williams.

The concert is free and open to the public along with parking. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Additional information is available by calling the Music Office at Grove City College at 724-458-2084.

This is the first concert of the year for the College Orchestra with future dates including: the Chamber Orchestra in Harbison Chapel at 9:10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, the College Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, and the College Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25. The February and April concerts will be held in Ketler Auditorium.
