Grove City College Associate Professor of History Dr. Mark Graham recently had his textbook, “Ancient Empires: From Mesopotamia to the Rise of Islam” (Cambridge University Press, 2011), translated into Portuguese; “Impérios Antigos: Da Mesopotâmia à Origem do Islã,” translated by Gertulio Schanoski, Jr. (São Paulo: Madras, 2013).

Dr. Graham’s book has received outstanding reviews from scholars and is currently being used in history courses at various American universities as well as in a history survey course University College London and King’s College London in a comparative empires seminar.

Dr. Thomas Burns of Emory University declares in Ancient History Bulletin that “Ancient Empires challenges the reader to think on a scale that is seldom found today in academic books…[and] should assist academic readers, in general not just specialists in the ancient world, in posing better questions in their own work.”
