College's ODK honor society receives national grant
12/5/2012
Grove City College’s chapter of the Omicron Delta Kappa
national honor society was awarded a grant in recognition of one of its
members.
The ODK national office selected recent graduate Christen
Vallimont ’12 as one of the top National Leaders of the Year in the area of Creative
and Performing Arts. The award honors work on campus and in the community.
On campus, Vallimont was president of the Society of Women
Engineers (SWE) for two years and worked with the Swing Dance Club to create
SWE’s Masquerade Ball. She played in the symphonic band and wind ensemble and
helped organize the Mr. Engineering pageant and ODK’s Faculty Follies. She
played varsity soccer and competed in varsity track and field, both for all
four years. She graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
Engineering.
The award grant was directed to the College’s Development
Office on behalf of the honor society.
Grove City’s Beta Mu Circle of the honor society recognizes
junior and senior students for scholarship, leadership and participation in
activities.
