I chose Grove City College for the same reasons thousands before me did: finances, faith and academics. It was important to me to find a school that I could afford while surrounding myself with like-minded individuals in their pursuit for a greater understanding of God and a high quality education.
I selected history as a major because it had been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. As a child, I had spent endless hours in front of the television watching the History Channel—it seemed only natural for me to continue feeding that desire in college. Grove City College more than met my educational expectations and challenged me in ways I had never been challenged before. At the same time, it provided me with endless opportunities to expand my knowledge and love of history. The classes within the History Department offer a wide variety of historical topics from an in-depth study of the Cold War to American intellectual history.
The professors here at Grove City College have become more than just the people who lecture in the front of the room. They have become mentors and resources in my journey to expand my historical horizons. I have often enjoyed going to their offices to discuss class, life and God. Their wisdom and Christian background have helped me become a better student and a better follower of Christ.
