Both of my parents are Grove City College graduates, so I had heard about the College and its excellent reputation my whole life. However, it wasn’t until I started seriously looking at colleges that I realized why Grove City College would be right for me. I wanted a school where I would be challenged academically and athletically. Grove City College offered both of these opportunities.  So, I decided to follow in my family’s footsteps and become a Grover.

One reason that I chose to study accounting at Grove City College was because of the Department’s numerous course offerings. I am currently completing a dual major in accounting and finance and have greatly benefited from the program’s integrated design. I feel like I have a deeper understanding of the material because I can see how it all interconnects.  Also, the professors really get to know you and are available to help. Throughout my Grove City College career, I have never encountered a professor that was unwilling to explain something further or take extra time to help me succeed.

Last summer, I worked as a Technical Accounting and External Reporting Intern for Mylan Inc., a global leader in generic pharmaceuticals. Having an integrated knowledge of both accounting and finance not only helped me secure this competitive internship, but also allowed me to succeed in the role.

I’m so glad that I chose Grove City College. The Department of Accounting’s wide array of courses combined with the College’s excellent reputation have provided me with the skills and confidence I need to succeed after graduation.
