Written in 1955, “The Matchmaker” follows the twists and turns in the lives of three couples in the 1880s. Horace Vandergelder, played by senior Derrick Winger of Springville, N.Y., refuses to allow his niece, Ermengarde, played by freshman Hannah Kertland of Harrisburg, Pa., marry artist Ambrose Kemper, played by senior Robert Hackman of State College, Pa.
