WORLDWIDE SECURITY EXPERT TO SPEAK ON CAMPUS |

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Gary L. Caldwell ’69, an expert in safety and protection with more than 40 years of experience, will present a lecture on worldwide safety and security at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 in Sticht Lecture Hall of the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus. The lecture is sponsored by the Grove City College Office of International Education. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Early in Caldwell’s career, he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force Security Police gaining experience in missile, aircraft and nuclear security. He was chief of security police at for U.S. Air Force Electronic Security Command and at the Karamursel Common Defense Installation.
After joining the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service as a special agent, Caldwell held positions as senior training officer, security operations officer and special assistant to the director of the Diplomatic Security Service. Serving as regional security officer in Lebanon, Turkey, Pakistan, France and Saudi Arabia, Caldwell was responsible for all physical and information security, emergency management, the Marine Security Guards, the local guard force and executive protection programs for the U.S. Ambassador and visiting dignitaries.
Caldwell was seconded to the Counterterrorism Office of the U.S. Department of Defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict. He developed national level terrorism guidance and lectured to federal and civilian audiences on U.S. government terrorism policies, programs and Department of Defense response options to world-wide terrorism. Caldwell represented the Department of Defense in federal agency crisis centers during terrorism related incidents involving U.S. interests, at terrorism exercises in England, Hawaii and in Korea in preparation for the Seoul Olympics.
As a principal and founding partner of Corporate Security Concepts, Inc., Caldwell is responsible for managing the firm’s operations and investigation programs. He also has oversight responsibility for all business activities in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Caldwell has participated in a wide-range of security projects for international companies in Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. The projects included green field sites, guard force training and development, building design, perimeter and electronic security systems.
