GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Grove City College Department of Entrepreneurship’s 2008-09 Visionary Entrepreneurship Speakers Series begins with three presentations this fall. All presentations are set for 7 p.m. in Sticht Lecture Hall in the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus and are open to the public.

Rogerson has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has worked with top U.S. law, accounting, insurance and investment firms educating, motivating and training employees, prospects and clients on family issues around wealth and how to integrate it into financial planning.

He has spoken to wealthy individuals, business owners and board members of universities, hospitals and charitable organizations throughout the country. His audiences include: Lincoln Center, Yale University, Vistage, Museum of Modern Art, Commonwealth Club, The Nature Conservancy, New York Botanical Garden, The Young Presidents Organization, The World Presidents Organization, Harvard University Business School, National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Council for Advancement and Support of Education and Family Office Symposiums.

Ray Betler, president of Total Transit Systems, will present “Fundamental Values,” on Sept. 16.

Total Transit Systems is a division of Bombardier Transportation, a company that is responsible for implementing turnkey transit systems worldwide. With a large portfolio of domestic and international clients, Betler spends a large part of his time traveling to support more than 25 sites around the world.

Starting his career as a design engineer for Westinghouse, Betler became the youngest president and chief executive officer in the 120-year history of the company. He has served with the same company as it evolved from Westinghouse to AEG Transportation, ABB Daimler-Benz Transportation, Adtranz North America and finally Bombardier Transportation. Betler not only led the worldwide Total Transit Systems business, he also lived and worked for two years in the United Kingdom to lead Bombardier’s London Underground Project, a $5 billion business and the world’s largest public-private partnership.

A native of Pittsburgh and resident of South Park, Ray holds both a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and economics and a bachelor’s in administration/management science from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a trustee for the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and a member of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Engineering Advisory Board, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development and the Carnegie Science Center Board. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Dollar Bank, and a long-time member of the campaign cabinet for the United Way of Allegheny County. He has served many years as a Sunday school teacher and member of the board of elders, and currently is vice president of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of the South Hills.

Bill Nix, president and chief executive officer, of Axletree Media Inc., will speak Oct. 2 on “How Faith Affects Our Work.”

Axletree Media, Inc. is a leading global application services provider. With more than a decade of experience in developing web-based learning and content management solutions, the company has had extensive experience in serving the Christian, non-profit, utility and health care communities in the U.S. and abroad.

Previously, Nix served as chief operating officer of Colonial Mortgage Company, which was the largest privately-held mortgage company in the U.S. at the time. He is the author of “Character Works,” a book about developing personal character in the organizational context, and “Transforming Your Workplace for Christ.”

The lecture series is funded through a grant from The Coleman Foundation and is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Department of Entrepreneurship at (724) 458-2003.
