GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Grove City College Touring Choir will perform Brahms’ “Ein Deutches Requiem” with the Erie Philharmonic Chorus and soloists of the Pittsburgh Opera at 8 p.m. March 5 at Warner Theatre in Erie, Pa. Ticket costs range from $17 to $50 for adults, with all students receiving admittance for $5.
As participants of Orchestras Feeding America, the Erie Philharmonic provides attendees the opportunity to receive a buy one/get one concert ticket through donating a non-perishable food item upon arrival.
The Touring Choir was organized in the fall of 1959 to minister to others through the medium of music, create a greater appreciation of music and enable members to share in the joy of singing. Members of the choir come from many different academic disciplines. Membership in the choir is determined by an audition of interested students in the beginning of the school year.
Recognized by the American Symphony Orchestra League as “one of the finest regional orchestras in America,” the Erie Philharmonic has received several recent awards, including the “Charles H. Bracken Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Governance” in 2006.
